Mélissa Hurtubise has had a unique career path, one that demonstrates incredible determination. She initially intended to become a hairdresser, but took a job as a customer service representative at a financial institution. She stayed in that position for eight years. In 2016, she joined a firm of licensed insolvency trustees, first as a technician and then rising through the ranks to become a coordinator within their customer service team.
With a growing interest in insolvency, Mélissa went back to school to become an insolvency counsellor. She joined Raymond Chabot in 2024.
Mélissa has adopted a Joel Osteen quote as her motto: “Look for the positive in the negative!”
She enjoys making a difference in the lives of people who are struggling with financial problems. Her approach boils down to being warm, empathetic and non-judgmental. In her view, no obstacle is insurmountable. It’s just a matter of calmly analyzing the situation and considering the big picture.
As someone who loves interior decorating, Mélissa organizes Pinterest-worthy parties in her spare time. She also generously gives her time to support the cause of sick children by acting as a fundraising spokesperson for Leucan.
